How does a solar panel turn sunlight into electricity?

I am doing a project on solar energy at the moment and I was just wondering how.

What’s the relation between different parts of the solar cell?

I’m trying to learn about parts of the solar cells (dye sensitized solar cells mainly) and I keep reading about the diff bands, electrodes, and semiconductor parts. I’m especially confused about the role of the counter electrode and working electrode in the solar cell. So my question is, in a solar cell, how do the (counter electrode/working electrode/transparent electrode), the (valence band/conduction band), and the (p-type/n-type semiconductors) all function and what are their roles in a solar cell?

we knoe that if we rotate a loop of wire wound over a rod in a magnetic field or rotate the magnetic field with the rod fixed, we can generate AC…
if by mechanical arramgements we can connect lets say 20 gym cycles with the rotating loop, we can use the cyclists energy 2 rotate the loop n generate electricity…
we can put up such stations all over india n people can exercise there and simultaneously generate electricity 4 country…
also by semiconducting devices n machines we can convert AC generated in2 DC and store it in a battery,,,n when there is need, this stored DC can b converted 2 AC….
what does every1 think about this??
ok, lets take 200 cycles at time n not 20…and i am talking of big big loops, which are present in power supply plants…
set them up all over india….
